Sunday Dec 10
The industry is drataically changing wither the total number of pharmaceutical jobs avialable decreasing. As a consequence, the number of pharmaceutical vacancies is falling as well. Can the larger pharmaceutical companies maintain their current structure?
The pharmaceutical industry is having to become leaner. Pharmaceutical companies are either aquiring, or being acquired in order to grow and benefit economies of scale amongst other synergies to maintain or increase profitability within the changing environment of the NHS.
Within medical sales, the move is away from 8 medical reps per territory back to 1! With the former, a recruitment consultant could operate only 2 accounts, each with may 6-8 reps across 60 territories. With the move now to 1 rep per territory, the overall number of pharmaceutical vacancies is bound to fall. One would assume that for the larger pharmaceutical companies, their structure will have to adapt?
