Aldi not cheap for graduate recruitment
Despite the market trends, more reports are out with encouraging signs for graduate recruitment, with one employer, Aldi offering £40, 000 for graduates.
Salaries across the top 100 graduate employers are thought to be on the up, with average graduate salaries around £27000 in 2009, a rise of around £1500 on 2008. Aldi are offering a staggering £40, 000 for graduates, something sure to make their graduate recruitment scheme bursting at the scene. It's perhaps ironic for a company known for it's low prices and 'no frills' approach.
The reports by the Times highlight many areas where graduate recruitment is thought to be increasing, such as the public sector where it will rise by 20% and the armed forces it will rise by 12%. Encouragingly it does show that their are career opportunities out their for graduates during economic times when job opportunities generally are in decline.
